NTAG 213, 215 and 216 operate at 13.56 MHz per ISO/IEC 14443 Type A as NFC Forum Type 2 tags, differing only in user memory (144, 504 and 888 bytes). Every modern NFC smartphone reads them natively, which makes them the default chip for review cards, digital business cards, smart signage and asset labels. American Key Cards supplies NTAG media as printable ISO cards, adhesive labels and inlays — blank or bulk-encoded with your URLs and records, with optional write-locking. NTAG carries no cryptographic access-control security and is not a substitute for a secured door credential.

Can NTAG 213 / 215 / 216 cards be cloned?
Yes — NTAG 213 / 215 / 216 is an open format that can be reproduced from its facility code and card number. We don't copy individual cards on request, though — we manufacture new, correctly-encoded credentials for the systems you own or manage.
NTAG is an open NFC memory chip, not an access-control credential. Records are freely readable and rewritable by any NFC phone unless the tag is write-locked or protected with its 32-bit password, and the stored content of one tag can be written to another. The factory-programmed 7-byte UID and NXP originality signature cannot be changed, which supports authenticity checks, but NTAG should not be used as a secure door credential.

What is the difference between NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216?
User memory. NTAG213 offers 144 bytes — enough for a URL or short vCard and the cheapest of the three. NTAG215 offers 504 bytes for larger vCards or custom records. NTAG216 offers 888 bytes for the largest NDEF payloads. Read range and phone compatibility are effectively identical, so most projects pick the smallest chip whose memory fits the record.
Can any phone read an NTAG card or label?
Yes. NTAG is an NFC Forum Type 2 tag, the most widely supported consumer NFC type — iPhone 7 and later read it natively (iPhone XS and later read it in the background without an app), and virtually every NFC-enabled Android phone reads and writes it. No app is required for URL records.
Can an NTAG tag be locked so nobody rewrites it?
Yes. NTAG pages can be permanently write-locked (irreversible) or protected with the chip's 32-bit password so only holders of the password can change the record. We can bulk-encode and lock tags before shipping, or supply them blank for you to encode.
