Production workflow

Each stage converts available site information into a defined technical output before the order advances.

    Credential identification

    We review the existing credential, reader manufacturer, printed numbers, and available system documentation to establish the technology and likely format.

Complete documentation is helpful but not required. Send the information available at the site; missing format details can often be resolved from the credential and reader.

Credential process — technical FAQ

Do I have to replace my readers or door hardware?

No. Compatible-by-specification credentials are selected to work with the existing reader technology and credential format. Reader or door-hardware replacement is not part of the standard process.

How do I know which format I have?

Send the reader manufacturer, numbers printed on the current credential, system documentation, or clear photos of the card and reader. We use those details to identify the likely format and confirm what is required before production.

Can every card be copied?

No. Many open 125 kHz proximity formats can be reproduced when the facility code and card-number data are available. Secured smart credentials using protected keys or strong cryptography — including many MIFARE DESFire and HID iCLASS SE or Seos deployments — require an authorized credential path and cannot be cloned as a standard replacement.

What is the minimum order?

Orders can range from individual replacement credentials to larger facility runs. Pricing and the recommended validation process depend on the format, credential body, personalization, and quantity.

Are these genuine OEM cards?

No. American Key Cards supplies non-OEM, compatible-by-specification credentials for referenced systems. They are not manufactured by or affiliated with the original equipment manufacturers.

Will the cards arrive ready to use?

Cards arrive encoded to the approved facility code and card-number range. Depending on the access-control system, the new card numbers may still need to be enrolled or assigned to users in the facility software before issue.
