HID iCLASS SR Compatible Cards & Fobs
HID iCLASS SR is a hardened intermediate between legacy iCLASS and the full SE platform, offering stronger read security without requiring SE readers or AES infrastructure.
iCLASS SR uses the same PicoPass silicon as legacy iCLASS but applies a secure-read enforcement profile that prevents credential extraction with standard tools that rely on the exposed default key. While SR does not include SIO or AES (features exclusive to iCLASS SE), it occupies a practical middle ground for sites with existing iCLASS readers that cannot yet support the full SE platform — American Key Cards supplies SR replacement cards for verified system owners and recommends SE or Seos for new deployments.

Our compatible HID iCLASS SR credentials
American Key Cards manufactures non-OEM credentials engineered to work with your existing HID readers — no hardware changes, encoded to your facility code and card-number range.
Can HID iCLASS SR cards be copied?
No. HID iCLASS SR relies on secure encryption, so it cannot be cloned from an existing card. This is a security strength, not a limitation of our service.
Where HID iCLASS SR is used
- Sites bridging legacy iCLASS readers toward SE migration
- Organisations requiring security above standard iCLASS without full reader replacement
- Healthcare and education facilities on mixed iCLASS reader fleets
- Government auxiliary buildings and perimeter access

What is the difference between iCLASS and iCLASS SR?
Both use the same PicoPass chip family and operate at 13.56 MHz, but iCLASS SR adds secure-read enforcement that binds the reader, key configuration, and credential data more tightly. SR makes casual emulation and standard-tool duplication significantly harder than plain legacy iCLASS. It does not include SIO or AES encryption, which are exclusive to the SE platform.
Is iCLASS SR as secure as iCLASS SE?
No. iCLASS SR is more secure than standard-keyed legacy iCLASS but falls short of iCLASS SE. SE introduces AES encryption, Secure Identity Objects, and a Common Criteria EAL 5+ chip — none of which are present in SR. For high-security environments, SE or Seos is the correct choice.
Can you supply iCLASS SR replacement cards?
Yes. American Key Cards can supply SR-programmed cards for verified system owners. Because SR cards carry facility-specific keys, we require confirmation of system ownership during the order process. Contact us with your facility code and card number range.
