What is the HID DuoProx II 1336?
The 1336 DuoProx II is HID's dual-technology badge: a printable ISO-thickness PVC card carrying both a 125 kHz HID proximity inlay and a high-coercivity magnetic stripe. It lets one card serve a prox-based door system and a stripe-based system — dining, time-and-attendance, legacy lockers — at the same time.
Can DuoProx II cards go through an ID card printer?
Yes. Unlike the thick 1326 clamshell, the 1336 is a standard 30 mil ISO card that feeds through dye-sublimation direct-to-card printers. Print the face, keep the stripe side clear of overlaminate in the stripe area, and it doubles as a photo ID badge.
What do I need to provide to order compatible 1336 cards?
Two sets of data: the prox side needs your format and facility code plus the card number range (same as any HID Prox order), and the magstripe side needs your track layout — which track, what data, and whether it mirrors the printed card number. American Key Cards encodes both before shipping.
Does the magnetic stripe interfere with the proximity antenna?
No. The stripe is a passive magnetic medium and the prox antenna is an RF coil laminated inside the card body — they operate independently. A worn stripe never affects door reads, and vice versa.
