The ProxKey III 1346 is HID's compact 125 kHz proximity key fob measuring approximately 1.56″ × 1.25″ × 0.24″ with a built-in key ring hole. It is passive (no battery), weather-resistant, and compatible with all HID proximity readers. It can be programmed with any standard HID proximity format.
What is the read range of the HID 1346 ProxKey III fob?
Read range varies by reader model. With a ProxPoint Plus or ThinLine II reader, expect up to 2 inches. With a ProxPro reader, up to 3–4 inches. With a MaxiProx long-range reader, the fob can be read up to 12 inches away. The compact fob form factor inherently has shorter read range than a full-size card.
Can I use American Key Cards fobs alongside existing HID ProxCard cards on the same system?
Yes — as long as we program your fobs with the same format (e.g., H10301) and program them in the same facility code range as your existing cards, they will work identically on the same readers and access control panel.
