Can Vicon VAX Proximity cards be copied?
Vicon VAX Proximity is an open format, so a compatible card can be produced from your facility code and card number. We don't copy individual cards on request — we manufacture new, correctly-encoded credentials for systems you own or manage.
Vicon VAX proximity readers operate at 125 kHz and communicate via standard Wiegand protocol. Credentials carry no cryptographic protection and are cloneable with commercially available tools. For higher security, Vicon VAX controllers also support smart card readers at 13.56 MHz.

Are American Key Cards' Vicon-compatible cards plug-and-play with VAX readers?
Yes. Vicon VAX readers use standard 125 kHz Wiegand protocol. Our cards are pre-programmed to your facility code and card number range and read directly on VAX-300R, VAX-500R, and VAX-600KP readers without any system changes.
What bit format do Vicon VAX proximity cards use?
Vicon VAX proximity readers support standard 26-bit Wiegand (H10301) and custom Wiegand formats. The vast majority of VAX deployments use standard 26-bit, which is what we supply by default — just provide your facility code when ordering.
Can I order Vicon-compatible cards if I don't know my facility code?
Yes. We can read and clone your existing working card (if you send one) to extract the facility code and card number range, then program a full replacement batch to match. We also supply blank 26-bit cards you can program yourself.
