Proximité took the opposite approach from Keri's proprietary formats: instead of locking the encoding to one controller family, PSC-1-class credentials could be ordered in plain 26-bit Wiegand or a custom structure, so a Pyramid-series reader could feed practically any panel. That flexibility is why these credentials show up in buildings that never ran Keri controllers at all — an integrator liked the readers, the panel spoke Wiegand, and the credential bridged the two. Ordering a replacement therefore starts with one question: which encoding was your batch programmed in? A working sample card or your original order sheet answers it. How is Proximité different from the Keri MS format?
MS is Keri's own closed format tied to MicroStar readers and Tiger controllers. Proximité credentials are orderable in standard Wiegand layouts, so they work with the Pyramid reader line feeding any Wiegand panel — including non-Keri systems. That openness is the family's defining feature.
Can PSC-1-style cards be used on non-Keri access systems?
Yes, when programmed in a standard layout like 26-bit H10301 — the reader outputs ordinary Wiegand data any panel can parse. This is one of the few legacy credential families that routinely crosses brand boundaries.
Do these cards come pre-programmed?
Ours ship programmed to your specification — facility code and card-number range in the layout your system expects. Nothing arrives blank; every batch is verified before it leaves so cards enroll on delivery.
What if I don't know which encoding my system uses?
Send photos of a working card and your reader model. If the card was programmed in a standard Wiegand layout we can usually confirm it from the printed numbering and your panel settings; if it's custom, your original supplier order sheet or panel configuration pins it down.
